For this how-to we will be using the Squeeeeek No More kit. With this kit you can stop squeaks for wood, carpeted, and vinyl/linoleum floors. The kit comes with an alignment and depth control fixture, 50 special scored screws (extra screws can be purchased separately), square head driver bit with a stop, taped screw example for Berber carpet, (joist finding screw and fender washer used for carpet and vinyl/linoleum only). For wood floors you’ll also need a 7/64” drill bit and drill. This system will leave an 1/8” hole that will need to be filled with wood filler. Find a filler color that matches your floor color, if you can’t find the right color you can blend two colors together to match. Famowood™ Wood Filler is water based and can be blended with water.

Step 1 Locate the plank that is squeaking (finding the floor joist is not necessary). Use the 7/64” bit and drill a pilot hole for the screw. Hand start the scored screw in the pilot hole. Place the Alignment and Depth Control Fixture over the head.	Step 2 Place your feet on each side of the fixture and drive the screw as far as the fixture will allow, keeping the drill as plumb as possible.
Step 3 Place the screw gripper located on one of the fixture legs over the screw and gently rock the fixture to snap off the screw head.	Step 4 Fill the small hole with wood filler and let dry.
