How long do you have to wait until the hot water at your faucet reaches your desired temperature? Have you thought about all that water running down the drain as you find other things to do waiting to jump into the shower? If so the Autocirc® Pump System is the product for you. Another advantage is the timer that is a part of this unit. You can program the unit to activate at a time that your family needs hot water the most. The unit also has a built-in temperature sensor that automatically turns the pump on when the water temperature in the hot water supply line cools down to 85¼F. In this How-To we show how simple it is to install this system.

Locate the faucet that takes the longest to reach a warm temperature. This is the area that you’ll be installing the pump. You will need to have a 115 volt outlet within six feet of the installation, the unit is supplied with a six-foot long, grounded cord. You can add another outlet to an existing outlet under your vanity or kitchen cabinet. Check to see what your building code requires. If you are uncomfortable working with electricity see the box bottom right.
Start by locating where you’ll need to mount the unit.
CAUTION! Do not fasten the pump to a thin wood panel wall as this might create a vibration noise when the pump is operating, try and find a support brace.
If you can’t find a brace then use a back bearing anchor (molly bolt). Measure the the distance from the unit to the faucet and from the unit to the riser shut-off valves, add two more inches to the overall length of the flexible line and purchase the line closest to that measurement.
Close the undersink hot and cold riser shut-off valves and open the hot and cold water faucets to relieve the water pressure then close the water faucets. Note: in some older homes, the riser shut-off valves may be difficult to shut off completely. If this is the case turn the water off at the main water inlet valve to the house. Connect your new flexible line to both hot and cold connection at your faucet (figure 1). Place the unit with the mounting bracket with the flexible hose from the faucet to the unit and mark both sides of the bracket (figure 2), split the distance and mount the bracket. Connect the flexible hose from the riser shut-off valve to the unit (figure 3).
After tightening all connections turn on the hot and cold valves to check for leaks. Plug the unit in. To set the timer or use the thermostat, read the brochure that is supplied with the unit.
That’s it (figure 4). Test the unit with all your faucets and
see how quickly hot water is supplied to all your faucets and showers.
